The 54th running of the Birkenhead Park 5 Mile Race (2026) is now live for entries, secure your place today.

We look forward to seeing all on the 22nd July 2026,

The Birkenhead Park 5 Mile Road Race began in 1972 and has been run every year since, with a virtual event during lockdown in 2020.

The 2026 race is on Wednesday July 22nd starting at 7.00pm outside St Mary's Cricket Club in the Lower Park (near the visitor centre), In 2026 your race fee will include:  

  • Chip timing on an accurate accredited course.
  • Memento to all finishers 
  • £100 prize for course record for both male & female runners
  • Cash prize for 1st, 2nd & 3rd male and 1st, 2nd & 3rd female finishers  (£50, £30, £10)
  • Free professional photos
  • Water station available on each lap.
  • A kid's 1 mile race with memento (6pm)

Registration will be at the visitors centre at finish area (Open at 17:15)
